- Orange oil tires
-
Orange oil tires are rubber tires made using orange oil in place of part of the petroleum usually used. This saves petroleum in the manufacturing of the tires, and both increases grip and reduces rolling resistance. The reduction in rolling resistance leads to better fuel efficiency.

Specifications
The tire has no draw down in performance or durability. To show the durability of these tire many racing teams in the American Le Mans Series are currently using these Orange Oil tires. Since the tire is mostly made of orange oil extracted from orange peel, the tire is almost completely made of a renewable resource.
Yokohama’s Super Nano-Power Rubber Compound operates in dual modes—steady (straight driving) and active (cornering and braking) so you experience no compromises in grip or rolling resistance. At steady mode, when heat generation is constant, the compound works to ensure lower rolling resistance. During active mode, the properties of Orange Oil generate heat quickly to deliver better grip.
Manufacturers
There is only one tire manufacturer that is currently producing and selling the orange oil tires, Yokohama Rubber Company. Yokohama is the proprietor of this compound which they are calling "Super Nano-Power Rubber Compound™ (SNPR)". The dB super E-spec is the forerunner in the Yokohama Eco-friendly tires and is the first tire to have the SNPR compound.

The tire is available in a variety of sizes that include the more compact and Eco-friendly hybrid vehicles[1].
