The club was founded on May 1, 1949.[1] Operário won the Campeonato Mato-Grossense 14 times (1964, 1967, 1968, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1994, 1995, 1997, 2002 and 2006).
