Onicha is a Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Nigeria. It has an area of 476 km² and has a population of 236,828 according to the 2006 census. The postal code of the area is 491.^[1] Its headquarters are in the town of Isu.

Due to the high fertility of its soil, the Onicha area is considered to be one of the areas of the Ebonyi State with the highest capacity to produce the food needed to feed the state. Despite their original names being identical, Onicha should not be confused with the major city of Onitsha located to its west in Nigeria.
