Omar Poveda (born September 28, 1987 in Turmero, Venezuela) is a Minor League Baseball pitcher in the Miami Marlins organization.

Poveda was on the Texas Rangers 40-man roster while recovering from Tommy John surgery in early 2010.

On July 29, 2010, Poveda and Evan Reed were traded to the Marlins for Jorge Cantú.[1]
