Career
Born in Sunderland, England, Hotchkiss started out at Sunderland's academy before joining Leeds United's youth academy. In the 2008-09 season he signed on a one month loan deal for Garforth Town,[3] followed by a loan deal with Conference Premier side Mansfield Town on loan, where he then played regularly. After the loan spell expired Hotchkiss signed a new one year deal at Leeds, and during the 2009-10 season found himself back out on loan at Mansfield.[4] He scored his first goal in professional football on the 1 December 2009.
On 13 January 2010, his contract with Leeds United was terminated by mutual concent,[5] and he was allowed to join Mansfield Town on a permanent basis.[6] Despite impressing, Hotchkiss was regularly out with various injuries and then was released.[7]
In summer 2010, he signed permanently for Northern Premier League Division One North sideGarforth Town.[8]
Style of play
His old team mate Scott Gardner described him as a "playmaker" and someone who is never shy of a tackle. Gardner also compared him to Gary McAllister.[9] He is also a good player at set pieces.[10]
Trivia
Hotchkiss featured on Leeds United's skills school on Soccer AM, where he defeated teammate Tom Elliott.[11]
