Men's wrestling Olympic Games Gold 1960 Rome Greco-Roman Bantamweight Oleg Karavayev (20 May 1936 – 23 August 1978) was a Soviet wrestler and Olympic Champion. He was born in Minsk.
He was Jewish.[1] He competed at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome where he won a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling, the bantamweight class.[2] He was also 1958 and 1961 world champion, and USSR champion multiple times.[3]
