Om Prakash Chautala (born 1 January 1935) is an Indian politician from the state of Haryana and the leader of the Indian National Lok Dal political party. He is a former Chief Minister of Haryana. Presently, he is the Leader of Opposition in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha.
Chautala is the son of Chaudhari Devi Lal, a former deputy prime minister of India. He was born in a Jaat family of Sihag gotra.[1][2] He was the Chief Minister of Haryana from 2 December 1989 to 2 May 1990, from 12 July 1990 to 17 July 1990, again from 22 March 1991 to 6 April 1991 and finally from 24 July 1999 to 4 March 2005. Politically, he had been part of NDA and Third Front at national level. But still he describe the Congress and BJP as Saampnath and Naagnath. [3]
