- Okanagan Landing
-
Okanagan Landing is an unincorporated settlement and former steamboat port at the north end of Okanagan Lake in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada, located southwest of the City of Vernon. It was the terminus of the Shuswap and Okanagan Railway, which connected CPR steamboat service on the lake to the CPR mainline at Sicamous on Shuswap Lake, which likewise was a steamboat landing for excursion services on that lake. Three luxury vessels and a host of smaller passenger and freight boats operated from Okanagan Landing to Penticton, on the Kettle Valley Railway, where the luxury resort Hotel Incola was operated by the CPR to facilitate its passengers' needs for accommodation between connecting boats and trains.[1][2].
