Hudur (Somali: Xuddur) is a town in the southern Bakool region of Somalia. It serves as the provincial capital.

Overview

Hudur is located in southwestern Somalia. It sits at 4°7′12″N 43°53′16″E / 4.12°N 43.88778°E / 4.12; 43.88778.

The capital city of the region, it has served as a strategic base for the Somali Air Force.

After the unrest that accompanied the civil war in 1991, the city has grown relatively peaceful.

Demographics

The town's population mostly belong to the Hadame clan, a group with strong religious ties. The main language spoken in Huddur is the Cushitic Maay language.
