Bakool

Bakool ( _so. Bakool) is a region ("gobolka") in central Somalia. Its capital is Xuddur. It is bordered by Ethiopia and the Somali regions of Hiiraan, Bay and Gedo. It has an estimated population of 226,000.

Bakool, like Gedo, Bay, and most parts of the Jubbada Dhexe (Middle Juba) regions, used to be a part of the old Upper Region which was subdivided in the mid 1980s.

Bakol consists of the following districts:
