The School The school is run by the Endeavour Educational Trust - a partnership between Macmillan Academy, Teesside University and Middlesbrough College.
Oakfields Community College replaced Hall Garth Community Arts College and King's Manor School in Hall Drive, Acklam.
The new school will open across the two sites in September 2010 with a brand new school building opening in 2012.
It is being built as part of Middlesbrough Council's £100 million Building Schools for the Future programme.
The new school building will accommodate 1,350 pupils aged from 11 to 16.
It will include new classrooms, a performance hall, sports hall and large central atrium.
The grounds will have new landscaping, play areas, a dedicated cycle route and pedestrian footpaths.
There is also a proposed multi-use games area with flood lighting and playing fields in the position of the existing school buildings.
Houses Oakfields has six houses and every student and every member of staff belongs to a house. In keeping with their twin specialisms of Sports And Arts, each house has been named adter a British sports personality and a British arts personality. The students have carried out a selection process and are named after the following:
