Norton University (Khmer: សាកលវិទ្យាល័យ ន័រតុន, NU) is a private university in Cambodia registered with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.[1] It was established in 1996. The University was one of the first private Cambodian educational institutions.

In 2006, Tom Chandler, a 3-D modeling specialist from Monash University in Melbourne was invited to Norton as a senior visiting fellow. The aim of the fellowship was to introduce architecture and science students to specialised animation and modeling techniques and allow them to learn to digitally render their own heritage using 3-D techniques.[2]

Norton University has a campus in Phnom Penh and the current Rector (2008) is Mr. Chan Sok Khieng.

Vision
The College of Arts, Humanities, and Languages envisions to produce graduates with excellent knowledge and commendable proficiency in the English language and with critical minds who can pursue an in-depth examination of human activities, cultural practices, and theoretical approaches within the context of modern and developing societies.

Mission
The College of Arts, Humanities, and Languages hopes to respond to the needs of its students who are expectant to learn and master the English language and be exposed to other languages like Khmer, French, Japanese, and German. It also hopes to strengthen the students’ awareness of their roles, duties, and responsibilities towards the Cambodian people, culture, and society. This awareness can be brought about through their reading and analysis of the social, cultural, and political lives and activities of ASEAN neighbors and the world.

Objectives
The College of Arts, Humanities, and Languages will have graduates who can apply their acquired knowledge in teaching, research, and scholarship. These graduates will understand very well the value of preserving, nurturing, and cultivating traditional Khmer values and cultural practices. In order to produce such graduates, the College of Arts, Humanities, and Languages commits itself to providing high quality academic services through employing professional local and expatriate faculty members who are Doctoral and Master’s degree holders. The College is also committed to achieving international recognition for its degrees. In order for this to be realized, the College has formed a curriculum committee whose members are internationally recognized curriculum experts. Overview
The specialized 3-year Bachelor of Science in Computing program is designed to provide a sound scientific education, targeted at the needs of local and regional IT users, managers and vendors. The program combines theoretical training with practical technology experience. Students will develop professional competence in programming, networking, abstraction, and conceptual skills of computing. Graduates will meet national and regional IT manpower needs in major job segments such as programmer analyst, systems analyst, systems programmer, system administrator, system integrators and end user analyst. Businesses will find them as efficient resource in other duties as well since they are also trained in other business disciplines such as accounting and other disciplines of business. They will be able to contribute immediately to the development needs of the local and regional economies. In order to meet diverging demand in IT practice and personal preference, the 3-year Bachelor of Science in Computing Program consists of two focused studies:

  1. The Computer Science, which is Technology focus, aims to equip students with strong technology know-how so that they can stride forward alongside the advancement of computing technology. More computing techniques, programming, and actual system configuration will be provided for this option. This specialization is advisable to students who are good in mathematics and have a good logical thinking.
  2. The Information Management, which is Business focus, aims to equip students with sound business knowledge in relation to information technology. More strategic IT planning and analysis as well as the business principles and the actual practices of common computing applications will be provided. This specialization is advisable to students who are good in strategic thinking.

Relational For The Course
In order to meet the Cambodian social and economic needs for improvement of civil and urban infrastructure, it is necessary to moderate and develop an awareness and interest among the students, who are to become the future engineer in the country.

The course is intended to prepare graduates with skills required by the civil engineering. This ten-semester course is aimed to develop the technological skills in producing environmental implications. Areas of study include Materials and Building Construction, Engineering Drawing, Engineering Survey, Concrete Technology, Theory of Structures and Structural Design, Hydraulics and Hydrology, Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment, Geotechnic and Foundation Engineering, Contract Procedures and Estimation, Computer Application and Construction Management. Graduates can find as technical in a variety of establishment.
