North American College (NAC) is a 4-year American university in Houston, Texas, United States, accredited by ACICS, a nationwide recognized accrediting agency. NAC offers 3 bachelor degree programs, namely, in Education, Computer science and Business Administration.
The college currently operates through its main building which is located in North Houston on a 17 acre land.

History
North American College was founded as Texas Gulf Institute in April 2007. The Institute offered certificate programs for the first 2 years of its inception. Upon approval by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) to offer bachelor degree programs in July 2010, the school applied to change its name as North American College.
The 2010-11 academic year started in October 4, 2010 and ended in May 2011. During its first year the school moved into its new building at 3203 N Sam Houston Pkwy W at the start of the Spring semester.
Today, in its second year (the 2011-12 academic year), North American College enrolls more than 150 undergraduate students in its bachelor degree programs. About half of the student body is international with students coming from diverse part of the globe such as Canada, Albania, Turkey, Madagascar, Senegal, Cambodia, Japan and Indonesia.
Mission
The following mission statement is stated in the school website: "North American College, as an institution of higher learning, is committed to providing a nurturing environment for the systematic pursuit of academic and career-related learning, professional and personal development, responsible citizenship, and global cultural competency. The college aims to achieve these goals through instruction, scholarly inquiry, the free discussion and dissemination of ideas, and creative activity."
The school embraces diversity in its fullest extent and pledges to make international collaboration with other universities worldwide a priority.
Degree programs
NAC offers 3 bachelor degree programs, namely, in Education, Computer science and Business Administration. Each program is organized under a different department. Each student should also select at least one concentration to specialize.
The Business Administration program has the following concentrations: Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, General Business and International Trade.
The Computer Science degree program has the following concentrations: Software engineering and Computer Networking.
The Education Bachelor degree program has the following concentrations: Mathematics Teaching, Physical Science Teaching, Instructional Technology Applications (Computer Teaching), Social Studies Teaching, and English Language Arts/Reading Teaching.
Accreditation
North American College is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), a national accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education, to award certificates, diplomas, and bachelor’s degrees.
North American College is approved by Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and Texas Workforce Commission to award certificates, diplomas, and bachelor’s degrees.
North American College is a member of Career Colleges and Schools of Texas.
