Janice MacKinnon, FRSC (born
January 30 1947 ) is a Canadian historian and former Minister of Finance for the Province ofSaskatchewan under NDP PremierRoy Romanow . She is currently a professor in the Department of History at theUniversity of Saskatchewan .Born Janice Potter in
Kitchener, Ontario , she received an honours B.A. from theUniversity of Western Ontario in 1969 and an M.A. and Ph.D. fromQueen's University .From 1991 to 2001, she was a Saskatchewan MLA. In addition to being Minister of Finance, she also held the following ministerial positions at various times: Minister of Social Services, Minister of Economic and Co-operative Development, Minister Responsible for Trade, Research and Investment and Government House Leader.
She is Chair of the Board of Directors of the
