History
The company, Nippon Paint was founded in 1881. Nippon Paint (Singapore) Co. Pte. Ltd. is an affiliate of Nippon Paint Japan which is among the established pioneers in the paint industry with more than 120 years of experience in paint technology. In 1971, Nippon Paint established a 50/50 joint venture with Bee Chemical which was named Nippon Bee Chemical Co.,Ltd. In 2006, it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Paint.[2] Established since 1962, Nippon Paint Singapore is now a leading paint manufacturer in Singapore.[3]
Nippon Paint (Singapore)
In 1955, Goh Cheng Liang, founder of the Nippon Paint (Singapore) set up his first paint shop in Singapore and became the main local distributor of Nippon Paint. Over the next decade or so, Mr Goh built up a solid foundation for Nippon Paint in the industry. In 1965, Nippon Paint set up its first paint manufacturing plant in Singapore.[4]
Today, the company's core principles involve inventive paint solutions and high performance products. From a huge selection of products for architectural, trade and general consumer use, the company's focus is on products that perform as well as being environmentally friendly, for example, low odour or odourless.

The company and its subsidiaries has presence in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, United Kingdom, Germany, Greece, Norway, Netherlands, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Bulgaria, Estonia, Italy, United States, Brazil, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates. It is among top 10 brands in Singapore.[5]
To maintain its business standards, Nippon Paint strictly complies with local quality, environmental, occupational health and safety (QEHSMS) requirements in each country that it operates.
