The school follows and enriches the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and is an authorized IB World School; the only IB World School in Zhejiang Province. [1] NZS is able to take both mainland Chinese students and international students.

Affiliations
NZSI operates as a subdivision of Ningbo Zhicheng School and both share the same campus and facilities. Both schools are authorized to deliver educational programmes in China.
In 2010, NZS gained authorization from the International Baccalaureate (IB) for the IB Diploma Programme. It also operates a pre-DP course to allow students whose English needs development, to be able to access the DP.
Structure
NZSI has two phases in operation. A third phase is in development:
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme has students (age 16 - 19) studying for the IB Diploma (a university entrance qualification).
The Pre-DP has students (age 15 - 16) developing their English language skills with a demanding curriculum including English, Chinese, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Music, Theory of Learning (learning skills and critical thinking) and World Sports (including basketball, badminton, cricket, football (soccer), track and field, ultimate frisbee, and volleyball).
The International Kindergarten and Primary School (age 3 - 11) starts in September, 2011, and has applied for IB Primary Years Programme candidacy.
