Starikov Nikolai Viktorovich (August 23 1970, Leningrad) — is a Russian writer and opinion journalist.

The author describes the genre of his works as "historically political detective",[1] a thrilling mix of geopolitics, economics, history of Russia and different countries.[2] Nikolai Starikov is often referred to as an antipode of Viktor Suvorov.[3] The author bases his historical books on memoirs of participants and eyewitnesses of a described event. While his books devoted to the contemporary state of affairs in politics and economics are based on articles published in mass media and on Internet resources,[4] owing to what every reader can browse the mentioned links oneself, check them and make one's own conclusions.

Starikov is the organizer of the "Goebbels' Award", which is awarded to "people who lie about, slander and vilify Russia", following the results of vote among readers of the resources nstarikov.ru and nstarikov.lj.ru.[5]

Biography

Nikolai Starikov was born on August 23, 1970 in the city of Leningrad. He is married and has two daughters. In 1992 he graduated from the Saint Petersburg State University of Engineering and Economics (with a degree in economics). He appeared as an expert in economics in documentaries "Parvus in the Revolution", "Storm of the Winter Palace. Refutation."
