Medal record Men's weightlifting Competitor for the Soviet Union Olympic Games Silver 1952 Helsinki -60 kg World Championships Gold 1953 Stockholm -60 kg Nikolai Nikolaevich Saksonov (Russian: Николай Николаевич Саксонов, January 6, 1923 – November 2, 2011) was a Russian weightlifter, world champion and Olympic medalist, who competed for the Soviet Union.
He received a silver medal at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki,[1] and won a gold medal at the 1953 World Championships in Stockholm in the featherweight class.
After retiring from professional sport, Saksonov headed the Department of Athletics of the State Central Institute of Physical Culture. [2]
