Career
A prodigious singer/songwriter in the vein of Alicia Keys, 16 year-old Nikki Flores was planned release her debut album, the pop meets R&B flavored "This Girl" in Fall 2005. After wowing Sony BMG music honchos with a live performance—in which she sang and played piano—Flores landed a contract with Epic records in 2003. Her parents—both musicians themselves—encouraged the youngster by allowing her to record in the family's home studio and by age 12 she had written her first song ("Cry"). The first single off This Girl is "Strike", in which Flores sings in both English and Spanish.[1] But the album was eventually shelved and now she is signed under Patriot Records which is under Universal Republic.[2]
