Nik Thakkar

Nik Thakkar is London based pop culture expert,[1] DJ, model,[2] writer and brand consultant[3] best known for his pop couture blog KARLISMYUNKLE[4] and co-pioneering global entertainment and fashion campaigns including Wonderbra by Dita Von Teese and the 2011 Diet Coke by Karl Lagerfeld collaboration.


Career

Alongside Tony Blair, Diane Von Furstenburg and Dolce & Gabbana, Thakkar is a columnist for The Huffington Post,[5] has partnered with Dolce & Gabbana on content collaborations[6] and writes a weekly fashion column for top US celebrity superblog popbytes.com.

Thakkar is also a regular compere for EQ Live[7] (live electro pop music events in Shoreditch). This October, Thakkar will be on the panel for the Influencers 11 conference for La Nouvelle Mode - The Unconventional New Trends of Fashion, and has been invited to guest lecture on digital fashion at London College of Fashion from October 2011. He also DJs regularly at high profile venues including London's Bungalow 8.

Thakkar often refers to himself as the "nephew" of Karl Lagerfeld,[8] primarily due to his passion for multi-faceted creative outputs.
