Nigerian Rugby Football Federation Formation May 6, 1998 Headquarters Abuja, Nigeria President Richard Ajayi Website nrff.bulletinstudio.com The Nigerian Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) is the governing body for rugby union in Nigeria. It is a member of the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) and a member of the International Rugby Board.[1]
During the administration as Minister of Sports Sani Ndanusa, control of the Federation was perhaps inadvertently given to members of the Racing Rugby Football Club, raising a question of potential conflict of interest. In response, the International Rugby Board imposed an indefinite suspension on Nigeria in 2009.[2] In January 2010 the NRFF signed a kit sponsorship deal with Puma Sports.[3]
In July 2011 the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) brought together the feuding parties of Nigeria Rugby Football Federation, inaugurating a new board. The NOC Scribe, Honourable Tunde Popoola wiped away tears at the ceremony.[4]
