History
Towards the end of the 19th century, cricket was played in Nicaragua by the British who controlled much of the Atlantic coast. However, baseball soon displaced cricket in popularity and the game began to decline.[1] It is only in recent years that cricket has been played to any extent in the country.
Nicaragua's first, and currently only, international competition was the inaugural Easter Cup: a Twenty20 competition which they also hosted. Unfortunately they failed to register a win against either of their visitors, Costa Rica and El Salvador and finished last in the competition.
