Career
Pre-adult film career and acting
Noelle began her career at the age of 19, working at a psychodrama house in New York City.[8] She was also a stripper until the age of 30.[9] Afterwards, she became a columnist for underground adult magazines but soon switched to porn after she began writing for Hustler magazine;[8] she had been asked questions about the adult film industry that she did not know how to answer so she thus learned about the industry from experience. She acted exclusively in girl/girl films because she did not feel comfortable performing in sex scenes with men.[9]
As director
Several of Noelle’s acting performances were done for lesbian-themed film company Girlfriends Films; she went on to also write and direct for the company in 2007 when the owner told her he needed a “female front” for the company.[9] A year after becoming co-owner, however, she and business partner Jonathan Blitt created rival lesbian film company Sweetheart Video, as well as heterosexual couples-themed film company Sweet Sinner. Both companies are distributed through Mile High Media (which Blitt also owns). Noelle received an AVN Award nomination for Director of the Year in 2010, while Sweetheart Video has gone on to win several awards as well, including an AEBN Award for Most Watched Studio in 2008.[10] She does not cast porn actresses that are gay-for-pay in films for Sweetheart Video; she says the actors have to be lesbian or bisexual in real life because she feels “real lesbians want to see real lesbians.”[7] However, she does also want men to enjoy watching the films.[7]
In 2011 she began production on films for her most recent company, Sweet Sinema. Initially the company was going to be distributed by Mile High Media;[11] however, in November 2011 she parted ways with Mile High Media and signed a new deal with AEBN for the creation of a new girl/girl studio Candy Girl Films, as well as feature boy/girl studio Hard Candy Films.[12] Noelle says Sweet Sinema films will be erotic reinterpretations of classic films, rather than parodies; and there will only be boy/girl films initially.[11]
Personal life
Noelle is bisexual[9] and has a son.[8] She was previously in a relationship with former pornographic actress Satine Phoenix,[7][13] whom Noelle still refers to as her muse.[14][7] Noelle has stated that her busy schedule does not allow her time to have a personal life,[11] but her top priority is talking to her fans online every day.[12]
