Nguyễn Khoa Tóc Tiên, (born 13 May 1989), is a pop singer who is currently a favorite among Vietnamese teens.[1] By the time she was 19, she had already released two albums. She is named after a type of flower.[1] She is an alumnus of Le Hong Phong High School. In 2009, she moved to California for undergraduate medical studies at Pasadena City College.[1] Although she is generally recognized as a pop star by the Vietnamese students she meets, she does not disclose this status to her American classmates.[2] She recently signed a contract with Thuy Nga/Paris by Night Productions,[1] and released an album entitled My Turn.[3] Three videos that she made in Vietnam during her summer vacation are scheduled for release in September.[4]
The official Vietnam News Agency described Toc Tien as, "well known among local teens" (in Vietnam).[5] VNExpress called her a "singer students love."[6]
