The elementary school is the smallest of three elementary schools in the Parkview School District. Other elementary schools include Orfordville Elementary School and Footville Elementary School. It has been looked at several times for closure due to declining enrollment and Newark's distance from the rest of the district.
Academics
Newark Elementary educates about 1/3 of the district's Pre-K through 4th graders. The 4K- 2nd graders are split between Newark and Footville. 2nd graders that attended Footville head to Orfordville for 3rd-6th grades. Newark kids remain at Newark through 4th grade before joining their classmates at Orfordville for 5th and 6th grades.
