The New Zealand V8 Supercar International was a V8 Supercar motor racing event. It was the first round of the V8 Supercar Championship Series to be held outside of Australia[1], although V8 Supercar had visited since the categories inception in 1992 for such local events as the Wellington 500 and Australian touring car teams had visited New Zealand since the 1970s. The event can probably considered as a successor to the long running Pukekohe 500.

The event was first held in 2001 as the Boost Mobile V8 International at Pukekohe Park Raceway in Pukekohe, one of New Zealand's most historic race tracks.[2] The meeting proved popular with large crowds attending. The event was a happy hunting ground for New Zealand driver Greg Murphy, winning the event four times. Additionally Holden drivers won all seven events.

With the 1960's circuit ageing, several attempts were made to move to a new locations, until eventually finding a new home on a street circuit in Hamilton as the Hamilton 400.
