2018 FIFA World CupNew Rubin Kazan Stadium is the working name of a new stadium in Kazan, Russia that is currently under construction. Once completed in 2012 it will host football matches, especially the Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan's home games. It will also host the 2013 Summer Universiade football competition as well as during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. It's capacity will be around 45,000.[1] It will replace Central Stadium as Kazan's main stadium.
The stadium has been designed by Populous; according to lead designer Damon Lavelle, the stadium is a unique response to the local culture and place.
