New Kensington–Arnold School District

The New Kensington–Arnold School District is the public school system in the cities of Arnold and New Kensington, located in northern Westmoreland County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The district's superintendent is Dr. George Batterson.

Academic achievement

Valley Middle School

In 2009, the 8th grade was ranked 121st out of 141 western Pennsylvania middle schools based on three years of student academic achievement in PSSAs in: reading, math writing and one year of science.[1] (includes schools in: Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Westmoreland, and Washington counties).

Mascot and school colors

The school district's mascot is the Viking, and its colors are black and gold.
