The New Democratic Party of Manitoba ran fifty-three candidates in the 1966 provincial election, and elected eleven members to remain as the third-largest party in the provincial legislature. Some of the party's candidates have their own biography pages; information about others may be found here.

Wolseley, 20 February 1969: Archie Stone
Archie Stone was born and raised in Saskatchewan, and moved to Winnipeg in 1963. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the University of Alberta in 1967, and was working as a high-school music teacher at the time of the election. He was also seeking a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Manitoba.
Stone joined the New Democratic Party in 1957, and was an active member for many years.[1] He received 944 votes (20.37%) in 1969, finishing third against Progressive Conservative candidate Leonard Claydon. Stone later supported Sidney Green in the 1969 New Democratic Party of Manitoba leadership election.[2]
