Nesholmen Island

Nesholmen Island

Nesholmen Island (69°44′S 38°12′E / 69.733°S 38.2°E / -69.733; 38.2) is a small island lying 0.5 nautical miles (0.9 km) off Djupvikneset Peninsula in southern Lutzow-Holm Bay. Mapped by Norwegian cartographers from air photos taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition, 1936–37, and named Nesholmen (the ness island) because of its proximity to Djupvikneset Peninsula.
