Nereid (foaled March 4, 2008 in Kentucky) is an American Thoroughbred filly, sired by Rock Hard Ten out of Belong To Me mare Dowry.

She is owned by Eric N. Kronfeld, that also owned Vertigineux dam of champion Zenyatta; he also owns a two-year-old Zenyatta sister named Eblouissante. She is trained by John Shirreffs. Her regular jockey is Joseph Talamo.

Career

2010 season

On November 15, 2010, Nereid had her first start. She finished 2nd in her maiden race, going 6½ furlongs at Hollywood Park . She was ridden by Joseph Talamo.

2011 season

On May 17, 2011, Nereid broke her maiden, going 1 1/16 m on turf. She run with older fillies and mares. She beat 5-year-old mare at the and by a nose.

On June 2, 2011, Nereid entered in 1-mile allowance race at Hollywood Park. She won by 1 1/2 lengths.

On July 16, 2011, Nereid entered in American Oaks and got her first stakes win with dead heat with Cambina.
