Modern Trend in Nepalese Painting can be said as juvenile in comparison to the origin of society. Only after 1850 some changes were seen in Nepali Art. This was western style that was brought by Bhajuman Chitrakar who was in fact a traditional artist but got acquaintance with western Realism after his visit to Europe. Prime Minister Bir Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana visited Britain in 1849. After he was swan to the post of Prime Minister. And he was accompanied by Bajuman Chitrakar. Soon after his return the influences were seen in his paintings and was literally marks the start of modern trend in Nepalese Painting. Till date Nepal produce some of the finest painters that paint realistic to abstract and freestyle. Manoj Babu Mishra, Laxman Shrestha, Lain Singh Bangdel, Amar Chitrakar are some painted whose individual style can represent Nepalese painting.
