Airshow pilot

Airshow pilot

An airshow pilot is a professional pilot who performs aerial acrobatics for hire at airshows, typically at low altitudes. Also known as a "display pilot" in Europe.

In North America, ICAS (International Council of Airshows) is the sanctioning body which through its ACE (Aerobatic Competency Evaluation) program, instructs the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) in the USA, or TCA (Transport Canada Aviation) in Canada, to issue a "Statement of Aerobatic Competency" to a pilot which permits the pilot to fly low-altitude aerobatics at airshows in North America.
