Social Importance

Nellu documents the social imbalance that prevailed post-independence in the villages. The theme of the movie revolves around the poor agricultural workers and their landlords. From untouchability to caste discrimination to deprival of basic human rights, unemployment & wages below the bare minimum, the script touches on all the sensitive issues that were prevailent in the villages around that time.
