The first historical Přemyslid was Duke Bořivoj I, baptised in
874 bySaint Methodius . In895 , Bohemia gained independence from theGreat Moravia . Between1003 and1004 , Bohemia was controlled by Boleslaus the Brave, Duke ofPoland from thePiast dynasty , grandson of Boleslaus I the Cruel.In
