Nedonas (Νέδωνας) Origin Messinia near the Laconia prefecture Mouth Kalamata (sea level) Length approx. 35 to 40 km Basin area Messenian Gulf, Ionian Sea The Nedonas (Greek: Νέδωνας, older and ancient form: Nedon) is a river that flows in eastern Messenia in the southern Peloponnese in Greece. It is named after a mythological myth Neda. Nedonas is approximately 30 km long.

Geography
The river begins in the Taygetos mountains and flows from several springs. It begins at around 1,000 to 1,100 m. and Mount Xerovouna. The GR-82 (Pylos - Kalamata - Sparta) runs along the river. The river enters a series of gorges and steep areas and are forested. It forms a tributary with Nedoussa (also named after Neda) and enters outside the mountain and into the city of Kalamata which flows within two streets and through the downtown core, it empties into the Messenian Gulf less than 2 km from downtown and its beach and port are nearby. The area was mostly farmlands during the ancient times and until the early to mid 20th century.
Nearby mountain range are Rachi Goupata and the Kalathi Mountains.
Tributaries
The river has a few tributaries including one that starts near Karveli and Lada and another near Diasello.
