Nedelcho Matushev is a Bulgarian football manager and former footballer. He play like central defender in his career and born on 14 February 1962 in Kardzhali.

In this moment Matushev is a head coach of Lokomotiv (Plovdiv) and previous worked in Neftochimic Burgas, Chernomorets Burgas, Nesebar, Spartak (Varna) and International teams of Bulgaria Under-21 and Under-19.

He is former footballer in Slavia, Neftochimic Burgas , where he spent most of his career, Spartak Plovdiv and F.C. Rozova dolina. As a player plays a central defender position and is characterized by intransigence on the ground, solid game with a head, excellent inclusions in pieces before the opponent's goal.

Matushev is a head coach who try to use the newest and most modern football theory and practice. He is not afraid to have young players and to work individually with them. Nedelcho likes to work with a strong midfield and to impose the game and to attack in both side with the wingers and the full backs. He developed a few players who are part of the Bulgarian national team as Blagoy Georgiev, Vladimir Gadzhev, Georgi Chilikov, Stoyko Sakaliev, Ivelin Popov (Gaziantepspor), Nikolay Dimitrov (Kasimpaşa), Valeri Domovchiyski (Hertha BSC), Vladislav Stoyanov (Sheriff). He worked with they in National Team U21 and U19.

Playing career

Matushev start to play professional football in Slavia for two years and after this moving to Bourgas and now is one of true legends in this club Neftochimic. With this team two times go to final of Cup of Bulgaria, but Neftochimic lost. This is in 1987 and in 1992.
