Blagoy Georgiev ( _bg. Благой Георгиев) (born 21 December 1981) is a Bulgarian footballer currently (as of July 2008) playing for Slavia Sofia as a right midfielder.

Career

Born in Sofia, he played for Slavia Sofia and featured in 148 A PFG matches while scoring 24 goals.

Before moving to Serbian team Red Star Belgrade in 2006, he played on loan from Slavia for Spanish Primera División club Deportivo Alavés between January and June 2006. Then he was loaned to Bundesliga side MSV Duisburg.

International career

A Bulgaria international, Blagoy Georgiev was also previously a member of the country's under-21 team, for which he has 16 matches and 11 goals. He has been capped 25 times and scored 3 goals for Bulgaria.
