Nayna Mehta is a Mumbai based jewelry designer and artist, best known for her creation of the monument of the Twin Towers of New York City in diamond and gold. The piece was first showcased to the public at the Jewelers of America show in August 2006 at the Jacob Javits Convention Centre in New York City. To create this structure, Mehta reportedly used 14,080 diamonds and 1.5 kg of 18kt gold, employing a team of 38 technicians over a period of 6 months.[1][2]
