National Reserves of New Zealand

A National Reserve is a land status designation in New Zealand. They cover a total of 96,198 hectares.[1]

There are three National Reserves:

  • Cooks Landing Site National Reserve
  • Lewis Pass National Reserve
  • Waitangi National Reserve

National Reserves are administered by the Department of Conservation and are controlled by the Reserves Act 1977.
