This is a list of Commander in Chief characters. Commander in Chief is a television show that aired on the ABC television network in the United States during 2005 and 2006.

• President Theodore Roosevelt "Teddy" Bridges (R-CA), former vice president and California governor; has a stroke shortly after closing a year-and-a-half in office and dies of complications.
  • Vice President Mackenzie Allen (I-CT), political independent, former moderate Republican; former two-term congresswoman, chancellor of the University of Richmond, prosecutor, Middle East expert, and Nobel laureate; chosen by Bridges and nominated by the Republican Party as his running-mate; improves Bridges' 40% approval rating with women; many, including Speaker Nathan Templeton, credit her with winning the election for the Republican ticket; Bridges considers naming her to the Supreme Court after she begins heavily involving herself in political matters and "sprouting her own agenda".

Allen Administration

• President Mackenzie Spencer Allen (I-CT), succeeds to the Presidency following the death of President Teddy Bridges; first woman president.
  • Vice President Warren Fitzgerald Keaton (D-OK), former four-star general and Supreme commander of allied forces in Europe; according to Allen he "won a war" without any casualties and is an "economics genius"; was Governor Jack Crawford's running-mate on the Democratic ticket that lost to Bridges/Allen; resigns after a year in office due to wife's cervical cancer.
  • Vice President James "Jim" Gardener (R-MD), White House Chief of Staff nominated to succeed General Keaton.

• Secretary of State Martin Wye (R)
• Secretary of the Treasury Stan Dennison (D-MO), wealthy banker and Democratic Senate candidate when Allen appointed him to clear the field for Republican Senator Joe Peck.
• Secretary of Defense Mills Francis (R), close friend of and advisor to President Bridges; reprimanded by Allen and Gardener, along with CIA Director Shoop and General Krieger, for keeping the president in the dark about the North Korean arms trade spy mission.
• Attorney General Melanie Blackston (R), fired by Allen after ignoring her order not to torture a terrorist detainee
• Attorney General Carl Brantley (R-CT), former prosecutor, Attorney General of Connecticut, US Senator, gubernatorial nominee; old friend of Allen's appointed to replace Melanie Blackston. Republican Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Joe Peck tried to derail Brantley's nomination at Templeton's behest; despite liking Brantley, Templeton wanted to use the nomination to hurt Allen, whom he planned to challenge in the presidential election and Peck, facing a difficult reelection campaign, could not afford to alienate the Republican Party, until Allen offered to appoint his opponent as her Treasury Secretary.
• Secretary of the Interior Charlie Witherspoon (R), resigns from the cabinet at Templeton's urging; had originally told then-Vice President Allen, while Bridges was ill, that he would support her Presidency.
• Secretary of Agriculture Francis Barnes (R)
• Secretary of Labor (R), resigns after Allen takes the oath of office despite Bridges and the Republicans having asked her to step aside so that another Republican (Speaker Templeton) may assume office.
• National Security Advisor Roman Wolfe (R), resigns on the day of the Russian summit along with Secretary Witherspoon; Templeton offers him the same job in a potential Templetion Administration.
• National Security Advisor Anthony Prado, appointed by Allen following Wolfe's resignation; college friend of Allen who arranged for her first job after law school; first Latino National Security Advisor.

• White House Chief of Staff Jim Gardener (R-MD), Chief of Staff to Presidents Bridges and Allen
• Deputy White House Chief of Staff Dan Pierce
• White House Press Secretary Hale Richardson, Bridge's Press Secretary; fired by Jim Gardener shortly after Bridges' death for disloyalty to Allen.
