Narborough Baronets

Narborough Baronets
Scilly naval disaster of 1707, which claimed the life of Sir John Narborough, Bt, and his younger brother.

The Narborough Baronetcy, of Knowlton in the County of Kent, was a title in the Baronetage of England. It was created on 15 November 1688 for the four-year-old John Narborough, with remainder to his younger brother, James Narborough. The title was in honour of their father, Admiral Sir John Narborough, who had died in May 1688. The title became extinct when the first Baronet was lost in the Scilly naval disaster of 1707, alongside his brother James and their stepfather, Sir Cloudesley Shovell. The family estates passed to the late Baronet's sister, Elizabeth Narborough, wife of Thomas D'Aeth, who was created a Baronet, of Knowlton, in 1716 (see D'Aeth Baronets).

The family seat was Knowlton Court, Knowlton, Kent.
