Napa Valley Winemakers' Society is an association of active winemakers in the Napa Valley.Napa red wine Winemaker members of the NVWS offer their own wines from their own vineyards, or, more commonly, vineyards of their employers or associates, to make a limited production of red wines unique to their artistic style. NVWS winemakers are usually always employed by various wineries in the Napa or Sonoma wine country, and use the NVWS as a stepping stone to create their own label or winery.
The NVWS share winery overhead costs and are supported exclusively by Expedition "constituents" throughout the world who subscribe to NVWS quarterly allotments. Constituent Terms & Conditions The NVWS provides a unique economic ability for Napa Valley wine country winemakers to produce and offer their own wines at a fraction of the cost of capitalizing a traditional winery. NVWS also enjoy an ongoing and loyal following throughout the world via the Expedition "constituents" who commit to the unknown, but unique quarterly offerings, and enjoy highly limited NVWS offerings. Some of the NVWS offerings have been highly praised and are expected to develop into "cult" status. That is, the offerings by design are highly limited, and after market prices have reached in the hundreds of dollars per bottle. Expedition: napa red wine
NVWS's economic model has been the focus of other winemakers in other wine regions as a viable economic alternative to traditional winery start ups. Organization is underway in the Paso Robles wine region of Southern California, the Willamette Wine region of Oregon, and the Walla Walla appellation of Northern Oregon and Southeast Washington.
