- Baron Desborough
Baron Desborough, of Taplow in the County of Buckingham, was a title in the
Peerage of the United Kingdom . It was created in 1905 for the sportsman and politician William Grenfell ofTaplow Court inBuckinghamshire . He had three sons and two daughters. The eldest son, Hon.Julian Grenfell , and the second son, Hon. William Grenfell, were both killed in action in 1915 during theFirst World War . The third son, Hon. Ivo George Winifred Grenfell, died as the result of a motoring accident in 1926. None of the sons had children and consequently the title became extinct on Lord Desborough's death in 1945.Lord Desborough was the first cousin of the banker
