Nagarjuna Hospital is a multi specialty hospital in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. Founded in 1992 by a group of NRI doctors led by Dr. Kodali Jagan Mohan Rao, many procedures were performed for the first time in coastal Andhra Pradesh at this 200 bed facility.
Services
Nagarjuna Hospital provides advanced medical care to all classes of people. The hospital has 20 full-time consultants in addition to visiting specialists and resident medical officers. The Institute of advanced Gastroenterology provides advanced endoscopy services including trans-nasal endoscopy, magnification endoscopy, chromo endoscopy, double-balloon endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound. The trauma care unit was the first in the region with orthopaedic surgical, neurosurgical and intensive care backup. The intensive care unit provides advanced monitoring facilities for both medical and surgical emergencies. A team of five qualified intensivists led by Dr. U. Sree Lakshmi provides round the clock cover for the unit. The procedures which are still being carried out include therapeutic endoscopy, advanced laparoscopy, neurovascular surgery and joint replacement surgery. This is a tertiary referral centre for medical gastroenterology, surgical gastroenterology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, advanced orthopaedic surgery and advanced intensive care.
Equipment
The hospital has automatic blood counters, auto analyzers, state of the art X-ray and ultrasound equipment, digital and magnification endoscopy, range of endoscopic ultrasound, scopes, trans-nasal endoscopy and double balloon enteroscopy in addition to Dual slice sub-second CT scan. There are six advanced mechanical ventilators with invasive monitoring facility. The operation theatres are equipped with Swiss lights and anesthesia machines.
