Nadhaswaram is a Tamil drama directed by Metti Oli director Thirumurugan. He received high praising for Metti Oli, so he continued directing another drama. This drama is a family oriented drama like Metti Oli. It is also telecasted by Sun TV. This drama is mostly shot in Karaikudi and has a lot of debutants in acting.

Characters and Introduction

T. S. B. K. Mouli as Chokkalingam. The eldest brother in the family. A very lovely person. Always wants his children to be happy. He treats his nephew and nieces as his own children. He does Nadaswaram performance with his brother, Mayilvahanan. He and his brother are very close.

Thirumurugan as Gopi.;kl He owns a tailor shop and has an assistant named Kaja. Gopi advices people and he has a huge respect from his family. Gopi loves Malar but his love is not successful. Everyone likes him for his responsibility expect for his cousin brother, Pandi. Pandi hates him because his cousin Maha loves Gopi and Pandi loves Maha.

Poovilangu Mohan as Mayilvahanan. He is the younger brother of Chokkalingam. Chokkalingam used to love and trust his son, Pandi more than his daughters. He realised he spoiled his son by being too caring.

Srithika as Malar. She works as an Engineer in Electricity Board. One of the wealthy family in the place. She loves Gopi and Gopi loves Malar but their love will not be successful because of their families. Malar is married to Gokul. Gokul tortures Malar on the first day of their marriage itself. Gokul suspects Malar even though Malar did not have any contact with Gopi.

Pandi : Mayilvahanan and Devanai's only one and eldest son. A useless and a rude fellow in his family. He often drinks and totally opposite from his cousin brother, Gopi. Pandi is not responsible at all. He loves Maha and he even tried to rape her because he wants to marry Maha very badly. He does not mind to kill Gopi just for Malar.After that, Pandi hits Maha on the head while aiming for Gopi,which made Maha mental.Then he kidnapped Maha in Rameshwaram and married her at Kodaikanal. After Maha threw all the money Pandi stole from Devanai, he is acting like a good person to gain the respect from everyone.

Maheswari : Eldest daughter of Chokkalingam and Meenakshi. She is married to a problematic family. They are staying at Chokkalingam's house after some circumstance.

Kamu : Mayilvahanan and Devanai's eldest daughter. A very decent and quiet girl but misunderstood by her father in the beginning because he loves his son more. She loves her collegamate, Moorthy and she will soon get married with him. Kamu's brother Pandi named Kamu as 'Kundani' because she is a little plump.

Pramu : Mayilvahanan and Devanai's youngest daughter. A talkative girl. She is opposite of her sister, Kamu. Pramu is very frank and also a daring person.

Ragini and Geetha : Younger daughters of Chokkalingam and Meenakshi. Ragini is a very talkative and a daring girl. She is studying for beautician in Coimbatore. Geetha is still schooling. These girls help their mother to tie flower garlands.

Meenakshi : Chokkalingam's wife. She treats her husband's nieces as her own children. She does not like Mayilvahanan's wife, Devanai.

Devanai : Mayilvanan's wife. Most of the times, wont be satisfied of what her husband does. She wants her husband to perform Nadhaswaram alone without Chokkalingam.

Rohini : Malar's sister. She talks as if she knows everything. She often advices her sister but at the end she took a wrong decision which was her boyfriend. She ran away with her boyfriend who was actually married and killed his wife because she was extremely dark. She realised her boyfriend cheated her for money. They were close together and the boyfriend's friend took a video of it.

Gokul : Malar's husband. He loved Malar a lot before marriage but suspecting Malar since he tied a know to her. Gokul tortured Malar on the day they got married itself. Gopi rescue Malar. Gokul is having a video of Rohini and her boyfriend when they were close and he is threatening Malar through the video to live with him through the video. Malar complained to police that he is threatening. He is going after Malar and disturbing her.

Piraisudan : Brother-in-law of Chokkalingam and Mayilvahanam. He is married to their sister, Pushpa. Postmaster in Peravurani. He did not like his brother-in-laws because they are not equal to him by status but now he likes them.

Pushpa : Her real name is Sudha Prakash. In this drama she is the Wife of Piraisudan. She struggles between her brother's family and her husband's family.She has a daughter called maha. She is very fond of her daughter. In fact she neglects her own brothers because of some problem happened to Maha. She urges gopi to marry her daughter now.

Maha : Eldest daughter of Piraisudan and Pushpa. She loves Gopi a lot and she does anything for him.

Sammandham : Eldest son of Piraisudan and Pushpa. Joker in the drama. Flirts around and had a girlfriend names Mayilamma. He talks in broken English. His walk is the main highlight in the drama. He wants to marry any of his cousin, either Chokkalingam's daughters or Mayilvahanam's daughters. He wanted to marry Kamu but Chokkalingam did not agree because he is not responsible and do not work at all.

Sumathi : Youngest daughter of Piraisudan and Pushpa. She is still schooling.

Rassapa : Youngest brother of Chokkalingam and Mayilvahanam. He is still unmarried. An innocent man. He works in a rice mill.

Mother of Trio Brothers and Pushpa : Lives alone nearby to Pushpa's house. She loves being independent. She supports her son-in-law, Piraisudan more than her daughter, Pushpa. She do not even offer food to her sons who visited her. She only cooks for herself. A very strange mother.

Moorthy:Kamu's lover. One of Pandi's main enemies because Pandi doesen't like his sisters to get a good life.Married Kamu with the help of her family because Moorthy's dad doesen't like love.

Selvarangam:Maheswari's husband. He rented a coconut shop and a house and lied to Maheswari that he owned it. Selvarangam saved Maha when Pandi tried to rape her. When Deyvanai saw Selvarangam hitting Pandi, she slapped Selvarangam in order to save her son. When Maha told the truth to Deyvanai, she was sorry but Selvarangam left the house and he was never to be seen.
