n.y.d.c. Café & Restaurants is a restaurant group based in Singapore, serving a menu based on recipes for homemade soups, breads, pastas, pizzas, cookies, pies, ice cream, mud pies, cheesecakes and cakes that have been in their founder’s family for generations. n.y.d.c. is the acronym for New York Dessert Cafe.

Currently n.y.d.c. operates six outlets at Holland Village, Suntec City and Wheelock Place, Bugis Junction, the Heeren(2 outlets). Their newest outlet at the Heeren Level 5 Altitude is the n.y.d.c. Diner, which together with the Suntec City outlet has now closed due to adverse business conditions. NYDC currently is now left with only 3 outlets. NYDC has garnered numerous awards[citation needed] and the press has given much attention to its food. Particular notice has gone to NYDC desserts including its cheesecakes, mudpies & elephancinos.

n.y.d.c. was founded in 1995 by the husband and wife team of Max and Ally Sinclair.

From its beginnings at the Holland Village location in Singapore, NYDC grew to multiple outlets.

American citizens, the Sinclairs are currently busy with a U.S. based off-shoot of NYDC, dubbed NYDC Chocolate. NYDC Chocolate produces a line of fudge called Cocopotamus.
