N.S. Boys Hostel is a private boys hostel situated in Hatkhowapara, Azara, Guwahati, Assam, India, which provides accommodation where students of Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT) and Don Bosco College of Engineering and Technology (DBCET) can rent a bed with breakfast, dinner and lunch.

Etymology

No one exactly knows the actual form of N.S., but the hostel boarders often refer it as Non Scholars or Non Students.

History

This hostel came established as soon as the inauguration of Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT) in 2006. Two years earlier it was used as a rent house, but from the month of July 2008, it changed to a boys hostel.

Location

National Highway 37 as viewed from the first floor of the hostel

The hostel is located near the Deepor Beel and adjacent to the National Highway (India) No. 37. The locality is known as Hatkhowapara or Noapara which is a part of Greater Guwahati of Kamrup Metro District.

This hostel is closed for a year or more for construction.
