Mustafa Yektaoğlu

Mustafa Yektaoğlu (born in Nicosia in 1951) is a Turkish Cypriot politician. He has been a member of the Assemby of Northern Cyprus since 2005 (he was elected twice, in 2005 and 2009) as a member of Republican Turkish Party.[1] He has been the vice-speaker of the assembly since 6 May 2009.[2] He studied at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University.[1]

In an interview that was aired on Palestine Today TV on September 5, 2011, Yektaoğlu stated (as translated by MEMRI), regarding the recent tensions in Israel–Turkey relations, that "the freezing of all the military agreements constitutes a major blow to the Zionist government, because it has been well known throughout history that a Jew would rather die than lose any money."[3]
