Musical Minds is a NOVA documentary based on neurologist Oliver Sacks's 2007 book Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain about music and the human brain aired on June 30, 2009 on Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).
The documentary features blind piano savant Derek Paravicini, Matt Giordano and Tony Cicoria.[1]
Musical Minds the music education company was founded in California in 2001 as the brainchild of Warren Mendes, and has been in operation in several western states ever since. The organization now offers after school programs in more than 40 school districts, and are rumored to have an international franchise program in the works. The company employs a teaching methodology which incorporates unique musical learning tools that impact the spatial temporal learning abilities of it's participants.
